"Vigilante Justice is as American as Apple Pie!" Link is a petty drug pusher and gambler who is about to get his ass beat over an unpaid loan when his super fine sister Foxy Brown comes to save his ass and lets him crash at her place until the heat dies down. Foxy's boy friend (Dalton/Michael) is an agent who's been in the hospital for some time. His face being redone to hide who he really is, but today the bandages come off so Foxy and her man can be together again. Dalton was an undercover agent and tried to bust a huge drug ring run by The Man but when the case was lost he had to hide or be killed. Dalton, now as Michael, comes to live with Foxy and Link, but Link makes him as Dalton who "The Man" (Steve and Katherine) wants dead. Dalton is gunned down and dies in Foxy's arms. She goes after her brother in a rage and lets him know that she is going to get vengeance on the names he gives in a panic. Foxy goes undercover as a high end call girl named Misty and gets into Katherine Wall's (one of the big shot in the drug ring) business of sleeping with high rollers. Foxy and another call girl go on an assignment, and Foxy learns how bad and mean these drug pushers really are. When Foxy shows up a judge she was supposed to please, blow one is fired at the drug ring when he throws the book at two of their pushers. Now they are after Foxy and want her dead for turning on the ring. When they capture her, they return her to the house and torture her and find out her true identity. They send her to a terrible place filled with down and dirty hillbillies who love to torture and mistreat her, always injecting her with drugs. Foxy escapes and kills both of the inbreed assholes, as Link is shot and killed by Steve for being Foxy's brother. Foxy goes and gets the help of a neighborhood committee who takes arms and goes after the pushers as Foxy goes after the pilot who drops the drug shipments. On the airfield Foxy and friends take care of Steve and his men, even cutting off Steve's junk! In the end Foxy pays Katherine a visit, gives back the severed penis and says she's leaving both Steve and Katherine alive so that they can feel the same pain she has.
Pam Grier is one amazing woman. She's sexy and tough all at the same time, and the role of Foxy Brown was made for her. Plus she has some amazing natural breasts that she shows through out this film. The plot is pretty solid and is a total revenge flick complete with hard hitting vigilante justice. The soundtrack is great and is a mix of funk and soul. The film is filled with lots of blood and violence as well as tits and ass, which for a classic Blaxploitation, all are a must! The acting is good and has some great and talented bit players like Sid Haig in it. Director Jack Hill is a great in making genre films like this. His most famous beside this one are Spider Baby, Coffy, Big Bird House, The Terror and Wasp Woman. The only negative thing about the film is the fact that while Steve loses his penis, the bad guys are left alive and more than likely will continue to push drugs on the streets. So while Foxy did get revenge, she did not stop the evil business they own. That said, I enjoyed the hell out of Foxy Brown and it remains in my book in the top five Blaxploitation films of all time.
MGM brings some extras to the table that are worth checking out like commentary from director Jack Hill and the theatrical trailer.
If you're looking for a tough sexy female hero, who is on a quest for revenge against big bad drug dealers then look no further than Foxy Brown. With Pam Grier on the screen you know you're going to have a good time. Go buy this movie, sit back with a bowl of popcorn and have fun with a classic 70's film.
